Our Founders

Dr. Raif, the visionary behind Semeru Coffee, seamlessly integrates an illustrious academic background in Astrophysics and Particle Physics with an unwavering commitment to entrepreneurial endeavors. His journey, originating in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, led to the pursuit of advanced studies culminating in a Master's Degree in Astrophysics from Leicester University.

Presently a Doctorate in Particle Physics at UCL, his invaluable experience delving into groundbreaking research at CERN, particularly in the exploration of extra dimensions through the Large Hadron Collider, signifies a profound dedication to pioneering scientific inquiry and innovation.

Beyond academia, Dr. Raif's diverse interests in physics, philosophy, finance, and entrepreneurship offer a unique, strategic perspective. Partnering with Mr. Roy and Mr Firman , Semeru Coffee aims to democratize premium coffee access for underprivileged communities, transcending mere business goals for a venture deeply rooted in social responsibility. Mr Mohd Royzilee Mustaffa

Mr. Royzilee, known as Mr. Roy, emerged from Labis Johor and pursued a career in finance at Citibank after relocating to Kuala Lumpur. At 25, he survived a profound battle with brain cancer, emerging from a seven-day coma, an experience that steered his life's trajectory. His resilience fueled a pursuit of education, leading to studies in Sociology at University Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. Passionate about humanitarian causes, Mr. Roy actively engages in projects supporting brain cancer societies and Yayasan Kanser Malaysia, collaborating with hospitals, NGOs, and even the Russian Ministry of Health to deliver aid to cancer patients.

In addition to his charitable endeavors, Mr. Roy's diverse interests led him to the realm of music. He spearheaded "The Rockets," a popular rock band in Malaysia and Indonesia, collaborating with renowned groups like Hujan band.

A connoisseur of coffee and a multi-faceted enthusiast in politics, economics, finance, entrepreneurship, and charity, Mr. Roy partnered with Mr. Raif and Mr Firman to establish Semeru Coffee. This initiative aims to provide premium coffee to underprivileged communities, echoing Mr. Roy's belief in justice, equality, and prosperity for all.

Mr Firman Mohamed is a results-oriented professional with a unique blend of financial expertise and technological prowess. His background in Business Management with a specialization in Financial Management provided a strong foundation for his initial foray into banking. There, he honed his financial acumen for six years before embracing a new challenge – IT Application Analyst. This shift demonstrates Firman's adaptability and willingness to learn, making him a valuable asset in today's ever-changing business landscape. Fueled by a passion for technology and a keen eye for emerging trends, Firman thrives in fast-paced environments. Even beyond his professional pursuits, his enthusiasm extends to savoring a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, a testament to his ability to find joy in the finer details. This well-rounded perspective allows Firman to approach problems with creativity and a focus on achieving optimal results.
